Trois questions me préoccuperont :

ABSTRACT: PREVERBAL LANGUAGE AND EMERGENCE OF THE BODY REPRESENTATIONS, IN INDIVIDUAL OR GROUP PSYCHOANALYTICAL CONDITIONS, WITH AUTISTIC CHILDREN. Published, 1994, Revised and supplemented September 2011. 24 pages. © Geneviève Haag. The preverbal language that I will address conveys the first manifestations of thought. The aspects that I will unfold essentially deal with the way this language is concerned with the whole construction of the body Ego; the construction of space; and of the ‘representations’, in the body Ego and space, of the drive and identification links, right within the budding object relationships. This language is also concerned with certain primitive emotional aspects; and with aspects, which are still very sensorial, of some basic psychic qualities, with primitive emotions, and I might say, with all the organisation of the cleavages in all the emotional sensory aspect which is conveyed in the very image of the body and of space. This language uses shapes, shapes that carry out movements, possibly traces; this language is a prelude to more advanced organisations of thought. This could remain theoretical, were it not for the demonstrations of these constructions provided by the patients; they show us the way this language conveys the construction of the Ego- and it took me a very long time to decipher this language.

I will address the following three questions:

      • Where is this language concerned with the body Ego construction, and where does it express to us this construction?
      • Where does this language express the quality of the primitive emotional aspects?
      • Where does this language enable us to have some tentative reflections about the question of the shapes, the shapes, I might say, as perception and representation of the links? This question is bridged with Didier Anzieu’s work about ‘signifiants formels’ (Anzieu, 1987).
